Android 1.3.1, richer rich text, inline replies and more

We've a bunch of updates to share.

Android

We (finally) got around tackling some of the open ends in Rise for Android and shipped 1.3.1 to the Play Store. This version allows you to see, edit and add tasks, see what's ahead for today and easily collect tasks in your task inbox for later processing. We're excited to have it out and happy to hear your thoughts and feedback!

PS We heard you on widgets for Android :) That's on our list

Rich text got a lot richer

Working with longer descriptions or comments? You can now use a bunch more formatting options to help structure your writing--we unlocked lists, quotes and headings, as we're preparing a few even larger upgrades.

Reply to specific comments

You can now directly respond to specific comments that are made in a task, helping not to have multiple discussions running in a single conversation thread.

Due date options in slash menu

Due (ha!) to many requests we added the option to set dynamic due dates when using the slash command to create or update tasks. We're using a variety of ways to convert your typing into dates, and hope it's useful to speed up your flow even more.

Other fixes and improvements

  • Fixed: duplicating a task would not copy over the link to the original parent task
  • Improvement: you can now duplicate a task into a subtask, especially useful if you want to split a longer running task over multiple tasks that you want to use when blocking off time in your calendar. Find this option by right clicking a task and selecting 'Duplicate as subtask'
  • Improvement: we now render the project indicator on the timeline view as well, if you enabled that in the display options
  • Improvement: we now remember your scroll position for tasks, boards and lists as you navigate, so you no longer have to think about where you were after opening and closing a specific task
  • Improvement: the all day section of your calendar now will become scrollable when there are too many items, to make sure you can still see your actual schedule
